लघु कथा: तृप्ति बैंक की सीढियाँ चढ़ते हुए अनुराग काफी उधेड़बुन में था. ज़िन्दगी ने आज उसको एक ऐसे मुकाम पर  लाकर खड़ा कर दिया था जहां से उसे कोई रास्ता नहीं दिख रहा था. एक ओर बेटी की शादी की चिंता तो दूसरी ओर अपने पिता की ज़िन्दगी का सवाल. अगले महीने अनुराग की बेटी शिप्रा की शादी है. बेटी की शादी के लिए अनुराग ने उसके पैदा होते ही पाई पाई जोड़ना शुरू कर दिया था ताकि शादी में दिल खोल कर खर्च कर सके और अपनी वो हर हसरत पूरी कर सके जो उसने पाली थी. मगर पिछले दिनों सीढ़ियों से गिरने के कारण अनुराग के पिता के सर में काफी गहरी चोट आई थी और डाक्टरों ने कहा की अगर समय पर ऑपरेशन नहीं हुआ तो इनकी जान भी जा सकती है. यह सब सोचते हुए अनुराग बैंक में दाखिल हुआ. चेक देकर और टोकन लेकर वह लाइन में खड़ा हों गया. अनुराग आज ज़रूर  अपने पिता के इलाज़ के लिए अपनी सारी जमा पूँजी निकाल रहा था, पर एक बेटी के प्रति कर्त्तव्य निभाना उसे ज्यादा ज़रूरी लग रहा था, जो उसके लिए इज्ज़त की बात हों गयी थी. मगर इस उहापोह में एक पिता से ज्यादा एक बेटा होने का कर्त्तव्य ज्यादा भारी पड़ रहा था. टोकन का नंबर आते ही अ...

लघु कथा: अपनापन आशुतोष ऑफिस से निकलते समय काफी खुश था. आज उसका प्रोमोशन लैटर उसके हाथों में था. उसने ऑफिस में आज सबको मिठाई खिलाई और सन्डे को पार्टी का एलान भी कर दिया. रास्ते में आशुतोष ने अपनी पत्नी के लिए एक अच्छी सी साड़ी खरीदी. वो आज यह खुशखबरी अपनी पत्नी नीता को सरप्राइज़ के साथ देना चाहता था. घर पहुँचते ही उसने कालबेल बजाई. मन ही मन आशुतोष खुश हों रहा था. उसने सोच लिया था कि दरवाज़ा खुलते ही वह नीता को गले से लगा लेगा. लेकिन जैसे ही दरवाज़ा खुला भान्ताबाई को देखकर आशुतोष का सारा प्यार और ख़ुशी मानो पाताल में चली गयी. आशुतोष ने खुद को संभालते हुए बाई से पूछा " नीता कहाँ है? लघु कथा खांसी आज मीरा जल्दी तैयार हों रही थी। हों भी क्यूँ ना, उसको दील्ली जो जाना था अपने पतीके पास। सारा सामान पैक करने के बाद उसने देखा कि बच्चे कमरे मे नहीं है। वो उनको खोजते खोजते पास के ससुर के कमरे मे गई। वहां पर बच्चे खेल रहे थे। मीरा ने उनको देखा और बोली " बाबूजी ! बच्चे तो नासमझ है पर आपको तो समझ है। आपको कई तरह की बीमारी है अगर वो बच्चों को लग गयी तो इसका जिम्मेदार कों होगा। उस पर से आप दिन भर खांसते रहते है। मुझे आपसे ऐसी उम्मीद नहीं थी। " इतना कहकर मीरा बच्चों को लेकर एअरपोर्ट के लिए निकल गयी। उधर बेचारे बाबूजी देखते रह गए। सर्दी के दिन थे । जैसे जैसे सात गहराती गयी बाबूजी की खांसी बढती गई। सामने से खुली खिड़की ने आग मे घी का काम किया और उनकी खांसी को और बढ़ा दिया। बाबूजी ने जैसे ही दावा की शीशी को हाथ लगाया वह गिरकर टूट गयी। बेचारे बाबूजी भी क्या करते। घर मे कोई था भी नही जिसे आवाज़ देते। रात भर खांसते खांसते गुजार दी। सुबह कामवाली बाई राधिका आयी तो बाबूजी के लिए तुंरत गरम अदरक वाली चाय बनायी। जिससे बाबूजी और उनके गले दोनों को आराम मिला। इतने मे राधिका ने ...
